Frequently asked questions
What is dead stock and why does it matter?
Dead stock is inventory that has not sold, or sells very slowly, over a set period. It takes up space, ties up capital and often loses value as the season passes. Spotted early, it can be turned into cash through campaigns, bundles or another sales channel.
How do I decide how much stock to hold?
By looking at weekly sales velocity, supplier lead time and upcoming seasons or campaigns. Too much stock squeezes cash flow; too little means your best sellers run out, costing both sales and ad spend. The goal is a reorder level for each product that balances those two risks.
How should stock be planned for a new product launch?
With no sales history, similar products serve as the reference and the first order is kept cautious. Sales velocity in the first weeks after launch is tracked, and the reorder decision is made on that data.
